Top 7 Things to Know About iPhone 15

The much-anticipated iPhone 15 is another noteworthy addition to Apple’s smartphone lineup. While the new USB-C charging port and exterior design are some of the most remarkable changes in the phone, there is a lot more to explore. With four new variants up for grabs, two standard iPhones and two Pro models, it is important to choose a suitable model. So, here are a few things to know to make an informed buying decision:

Here is a look at the notable features of the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max:

1. USB-C port
Apple has finally replaced its Lightning Port with a USB-C port. This is because the European Union has been pushing for a common charging connector for years. So, for iPhones to be sold in the EU after 2024, Apple must equip them with USB-C ports, according to EU legislation. The 15W MagSafe charging is also available, and Apple has added support for Qi2 wireless charging in the iPhones.

2. Changes to the display
Previously limited to the Pro models, both iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus have Dynamic Island on the display. A feature unique to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max is the 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The iPhone 15 Pro models also have thinner bezels, leading to a slight increase in display size. Here are the key specs:
– The 6.1-inch iPhone 15 comes with an OLED screen and a resolution of 2556×1179 pixels. – The 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Plus also has an OLED screen with a resolution of 2796×1290 pixels.
– The iPhone 15 Pro, like the base variant, is equipped with a 6.1-inch OLED screen and a resolution of 2556×1179 pixels but with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate.
– Finally, the iPhone 15 Pro has a 6.7-inch OLED screen and a display resolution of 2796×1290 pixels with a 120Hz refresh rate.

3. Design improvements
With the redesign of the Pro models, Apple claims that these phones are now easier to repair. This is because of the titanium surface, which has a matte texture and is accompanied by an aluminum internal frame that improves heat dissipation and the repairability of the back glass. Additionally, the standard models come with new matte glass for the back, with 5 color options: pink, green, yellow, blue, and black. On the other hand, the Pro models come in four titanium colors: white, black, natural, and blue. Further, Apple has added a second-generation Ultra Wideband chip to all four iPhone 15 models that allows a couple of iPhones with the chip to connect at a 3 times longer range than before.

4. Improved camera quality
Apple has made changes to the dual-lens camera system in the iPhone 15 models, introducing a new 48-megapixel main camera that is significantly better than the 12-megapixel camera in the previous generation models. Further, the standard models come with a 2x lossless zoom mode. The Pro models have a triple-lens camera system, while the standard models have a dual-lens system. What’s more? The iPhone 15 Pro has a 12-megapixel Telephoto camera with 3x zoom, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max comes with a Telephoto system enabling 5x zoom. Further, users can expect a sharper night mode and higher quality portrait images in the Pro models.

5. Pricing options
The starting price for the iPhone 15, i.e., for the base variant of 128GB, is $799, while the iPhone Plus base variant costs $899. As the storage increases, one can add $100 to the price tag. The Pro and Pro Max models start at $999 and $1,099, respectively. However, the iPhone 15 Pro Max, however, has dropped the 128 GB variant and starts at 256 GB.

6. More RAM
The standard iPhone 15 models come with 6GB RAM, the same as their predecessors. However, one can get an additional 2GB RAM in the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

7. Performance upgrades
The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are powered by the A16 Bionic chip, while the pro models get the A17 Pro chip. The A17 Pro is Apple’s first 3-nanometer chip, with the brand claiming that it is the biggest GPU redesign in its history. Further, the GPU performance is up to 20% faster than the A16, making the Pro models worth considering.

To choose a suitable iPhone 15 variant, one should compare all options and carefully consider personal requirements, budget, and the features they want in their new phone.

How to distinguish between heartburn and GERD

Heartburn is an unpleasant, burning sensation in the chest that is more common than a lot of individuals realize. Pregnant women, older men, and even young adults experience it frequently. Despite it being such a prevalent experience, not many know that heartburn has actually nothing to do with the heart and everything to do with the stomach and the esophagus. Unsurprisingly enough, heartburn is also used interchangeably with GERD. But, before we get to deciphering heartburn and GERD, let’s understand what acid reflux is. What is acid reflux or GER? Acid reflux occurs when the lower esophageal sphincter or LES becomes weak, allowing the contents of the stomach to travel in the wrong direction, back up the esophagus. Acid reflux is also called GER or gastroesophageal reflux as it involves the stomach and esophagus. This condition can usually be resolved with over-the-counter medication. What is heartburn? Heartburn is a burning or painful sensation that is experienced in the chest. Since the lining of the esophagus is not as strong as the lining of the stomach, the acid from the stomach can cause a burning sensation in the chest. This pain or burning sensation that is heartburn can often be misconstrued for a heart attack.

5 common joint conditions and how to treat them

A joint or articulation is made from two bones that aid the body in movement. There are many forms of joint conditions, which, in many cases, arise from the wear and tear of bones. Arthritis is one of the major and most common health conditions in the country, and its intensity increases with age. Here are some common types of joint conditions that you need to know: Osteoarthritis With almost 10 percent of men and 13 percent of women aged over 60 suffering from osteoarthritis, it is one of the most prevalent joint conditions in the country. Osteoarthritis occurs due to the wear and tear of the cartilages that protect the ends of bones. It commonly affects joints of the spine, hands, hips, and knees. If left untreated, this wear and tear of the cartilage soon leads to bone degeneration, thereby affecting flexibility and range of movement. Treatment for osteoarthritis depends on its severity and the patient’s age. Mild symptoms can be treated through medications, physiotherapy, and changes in lifestyle, whereas moderate to severe cases may require surgical intervention. Spondyloarthritis Spondyloarthritis, also referred to as spondyloarthropathy, is a type of rheumatic disease that causes inflammation in various joints. There are two types of spondyloarthritis—axial spondyloarthritis, which causes inflammation of the joints in the chest, spine, and hip bone, and peripheral spondyloarthritis, which causes inflammation in the fingers, knees, and toes.
